Zane Evan Knight passed away on January 19, 2024 at his home in Casper, Wyoming. He was born on July 9, 1993 to Jerry Knight and KeeLee McLeland at Langley Airforce Base in Hampton, Virginia. When Zane was a young child, he moved with his family to Hawaii where his father was stationed. In 2000, the family moved to Casper to be closer to family.
Zane attended school at Verda James Elementary School, St. Anthony's Tri-Parish School, Centennial Junior High and Kelly Walsh High School. Zane graduated in 2011. While in school, Zane participated in Cross Country Running and the Natrona County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program. During high school, Zane worked at the Recreation Center as a lifeguard and swim instructor. After high school, Zane worked as a low voltage technician and as a fabricator for Granite Peak Fabrication and JW Williams.
Zane has two children that were his entire world. Amelia Knight was born in 2015 and Vincent Knight was born in 2023. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his children.
Zane loved fishing, camping and the outdoors. He would take Amelia fishing every summer at his favorite spot. He liked working on vehicles. His true passion was music and attending concerts. His favorite band was Tool.
Zane is survived by his father Jerry (Kelli) Knight, his mother KeeLee (Johnny) McLeland, his sister, Kaitlyn Knight (Ryan Neff), and brother, Zachary Knight. He is also survived by his daughter Amelia and son Vincent, his grandparents, Dick Silsby, Kevin and Tomi Cox, his aunt and uncle Stephanie and Doug Hopper and his niece and nephew, Sadie and Zander Knight. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry and Helen Knight.
Donations can be made in Zane's name to the Natrona County Suicide Prevention Task Force.
