No services are planned at this time for Wyoma Maxine Taylor, 82, who passed away on March 7, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Casper, Wyoming, after a long and courageous battle with COPD.
She was born January 16, 1931 in Newcastle, Wyoming to Nell Dell (Shoupe) Bonney and Alva Floyd Bonney. Wyoma (Wy to her friends and family) attended grade school in Osage, Wyoming. Then the family moved to Greybull where she attended high school. On September 26, 1947 she married Delmar "Gene" Small. To this union two children were born; Peggy Jean and Delmar JR (Jay). Gene preceded her in death on July 29, 1973. Wyoma married Charles R Taylor on June 8, 1983, also preceding her in death on January 2, 2002.
Wyoma enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, and family. She played the piano, accordion, and organ for enjoyment. In her working years she was employed by the Split Rock Bar and Cafe in Jeffery City, Wyoming, and then when she and Chuck moved to Washington State she also worked as a cashier for the Pony Soldier Inn, Yardbirds and Payless Drug.
Wyoma was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her children Peggy(Ed) Hinrichs of Casper, Jay(Kelly) Small of Chehalis, Washington, her step-children Ted(Susan) Taylor of Gunnison, Colorado, Dick(Sharon) Taylor of Douglas, Wyoming, and Shellie(Mark) Mahlstedt of Orting, Washington; Grandchildren Sabrina Hughes, Robert Reddon, Haley Morgan and Kelsay Small; great-grandchildren Melissa, Devon, Dominic, Tristan, Sebastian, Bryler, and Bennett. Also surviving her are several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wyoma was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be sadly missed. Memorials may be made in her name to Amedisys Hospice of Casper Wyoming or the Casper Humane Society.
