Winston L. Fagerstone, 82 of Casper, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 2, 1932 in Trenton, NE to Clarence Fagerstone and Frances (Youngquist) Fagerstone. When Winston was young his family moved to Arvada, Colorado to escape the Dust Bowl. He attended school in the Jefferson County School System, graduating from Arvada Senior High School in 1951.
He married the love of his life, Delma Payte, on October 2, 1952 and they welcomed their first son in September of 1953 followed by their second, third and forth sons. In early 1953, Winston was called to Active Duty from the Navy Reserves and was assigned to the USS Hornet. During his time in the Navy he met his best friend, Dean Kunshirer. After his retirement, Winston and Delma moved to Casper, WY.
Winston loved to spend his free time restoring cars and remodeling houses. He loved races and sports as well as tending to his garden. Winston adored his six grandchildren, Dondrae, Heather, Christopher, Amanda, Emily, and Evan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Delma; sons, Steven (Heather and Christopher), Ben (Karen, Amanda, and Emily), Carl (Stacie and Evan); granddaughter, Dondrae; brothers, Paul and Wayne; sister, Lenore; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all whom will greatly miss him. Winston is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary; and brothers, Ed, Eugene, and Richard.
A visitation will be held 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, that afternoon at Oregon Trail State Veteran's Chapel.
