Winifred "Jo" Doherty, 83, passed away on March 5th, 2018 at her home in Casper.
Jo Doherty was born on November 8th, 1934 in Denver to John Joseph and Ghasky Walsh. She studied nursing at Mercy Hospital in Denver. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Wyoming Medical Center for 30 years and taught nursing at Casper College. Jo lived a career of providing care for patients as an RN and nurturing humanity with hands anointed with love.
Jo married Dennis Doherty on December 29th 1956. Together they raised 11 children and nurtured 28 grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Jo was a devoted Christian and member of the Catholic Church. Mass on Sundays and throughout the week was more than going to church as she carried her love for Jesus with every step she took. From being a founding member of St. Patrick's to filling the back pews with her children, Jo lived her life committed to serving God. One could feel our Lord with her touch, yet Jo preferred to never let anyone know that she was reaching out and touching them.
