Wilma C. Hoffman, 94, of Casper, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at Park Place Assisted Living.
She was born March 22, 1914 in Cherry County, Nebraska, the daughter of Otto Wilhelm and Rosa Bell Anderson Pearson. She graduated from Mullen High School, Mullen, NE. Wilma received an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Casper College on June 3, 1966 at the age of 53 years.
She married Charles Sherman Hoffman on July 3, 1935 in Martin, South Dakota. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1988. She was also preceded in death by three children, Ella LaVern Hoffman, Nora Rose VanBurgh, and Guy Wesley Hoffman. Survivors include a son, Don Hoffman of Casper; two daughters, Charline Ross of Casper, and Marilyn Osse of Pierre, S.D.; a brother, Fred Pearson of Houston, TX; 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Wilma was a Cub Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, and active in Home Extension Clubs. She served as Executive Secretary for the Wyoming Dental Association, retiring from there at age 65. Her later years were spent enjoying her family, exercising and was a 30 year active member of the Casper Senior Center.
A celebration of Wilma's life will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Casper Senior Center, 1831 E. 4th. Mrs. Hoffman was cremated. Private inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery in Casper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Casper Senior Center, or to the Wilma C. Hoffman Scholarship Fund at Casper College. Newcomer Family Funeral Home in Casper is assisting the family.
