William "Bill" Leslie Sims, 61 of Casper passed away at his home, Sunday December 21, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.
Bill was born on December 10, 1947 in Casper, Wyoming to Frederick and Ethel Irene Sims. He attended Jefferson Elementary School, Dean Morgan Jr. High and graduated June of 1966 from Natrona County High School. He graduated from Casper College with an Associates degree, and went on to continue his education earning a Bachelors degree from the National College of Business in Rapid City, South Dakota. After graduating, he became partners with his father at Sims and Sims, C.P.A.
On January 24th 1986 he married Georgia Florence (Washenfelder) Patterson.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family camping, hitting the slot machines, Chugwater chili cook-off and going to football games. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Georgia, his son Kenny, his three daughters; Hedi and her husband Scott, Elizabeth, Leslie and her husband Brandon, Five grandsons; Blake, Brady, William, Brock James, and Christopher, one granddaughter, Kellie-Lynn, and his father Frederick, all of Casper, Wyoming.
Survivors also include his brother Tom and sister-in-law, Connie of South Dakota. His brother Rob and sister-in-law Jane of Maryland. Three nieces, Lauren, Robbin and Kristina and two nephews, Andrew and Blaise.
He was preceded in death by his son Charles, his mother Ethel and his grandparents, Edmund and Elizabeth.
Viewing will be at Newcomer Funeral Home on Sunday December 28th from 2:00pm to 6:00p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday Dec. 29, 2008 at 2:00p.m. At Casper Alliance Church 1725 S. Jackson St. Casper, Wyoming, with Pastor Kenny White officiating.
Internment will follow the service at Highland Cemetery
To say he will be missed is an understatement. The only thing making his passing bearable to his family and friends is knowledge that he is now out of pain and living with his Heavenly Father, his son, his mom, his grandparents.
