William Preston Seid

William "Bill" Preston Seid, 86, of Casper, WY, was relieved of his final watch, on January 19, 2018. Bill was born in Sheridan, WY, to William and Edna(Borland) Seid, Sr. on August 7, 1931. He graduated from Worland High School in 1950. He married Delores "Dee" Watson on January 28, 1955.
Bill was very proud to be a part of the U.S. Navy. He enlisted in June,1950. He served on the U.S.S. Brown, U.S.S. Fortify, U.S.S. Caiman, U.S.S. Sea Dragon. He received his Dolphins while he served on the U.S.S. Caiman and his longest service being on the U.S.S. Sea Dragon. He honorably served in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, and had several missions during the Cold War. Bill retired from active service in 1971. After retirement he and his wife Dee and son Kerry moved to Casper where he was employed with the Dave Johnston Power Plant for 21 years.
Bill was a member of the Submarine Vets of WWII. He also was an active volunteer of the Wyoming Veterans Museum of Casper, WY.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dee, Son, Kerry (Denise) of Cheyenne, Grandchildren, Christopher Preston Seid (Jessica Fiscus), Aurora (Duard) Dilday, Sarah Urbanek, Justin (Natasha) Urbanek, Great grandchildren, Fionna, Dameon, Sasha, Austin, Connor, Karsen, Anna and Ellie.
Services will be held at the Chapel of the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations, in Bill's memory, to be made to the Friends of the Wyoming Veterans Museum, 3740 Jourgensen Ave., Casper, WY 82604.
