William "Bill" Fredrick Rissler, age 85 of Casper, passed away march 4, 2017 at Meadow Wind Assisted Living. William was born September 10, 1931 in Casper, Wyoming to Wesley "Bus" and Helen (Weidman) Rissler. As a young child Bill enjoyed time and worked on the Rissler Family ranch, he would later become an avid outdoorsman sharing his love of nature and camping with his wife and children. He attended Natrona County High school where he graduated in 1950. He excelled in Athletics at Natrona County on the football, wrestling and swim teams. He was a golden Glove Boxing Champion of Wyoming when he was 16. Immediately after high school he, enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a Korean War Veteran. In August of 1955, he married the love of his life Maxine Crowson. Bill and Maxine raised 5 daughters. He spent his career working for Texaco Refinery. After retiring he and his family continued to enjoy the mountains of Wyoming.
William was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Linda, Grandson Brian Tyler, great-granddaughter Shelby Attkisson and his loving wife of 50 years, Maxine. He is survived by his sisters: Lavonne Tanner, Judy Logue, Betty Deidrickson, brother George Rissler: daughters, Brenda (Charles) Good, Debra (Wade) Tyler, Denise (Terry) Attkisson, Stephanie (Wade) Rissler-Christopherson, and grandchildren: Laura Wolf, William Wolf, Matthew Tyler, Amanda Carl, Angela Hawk, Corey Attkisson, Travis Attkisson, Scott Attkisson, Hunter Christopherson, Hannah Christopherson, Hayden Christopherson, Great Grandchildren: Heather Bolte, Ashley Klaassen, Alyssa Schwoerer; Michael Wolf, Dalton Huwe, Chance Tyler, Jade Carl, Averi Carl, Easton Carl, Danya Attkisson, Austin Attkisson, Riley Attkisson, Thatcher Attkisson, Trapper Hawk; Great-Great Grandchildren: Addisyn Bolte, Macey Bolte; Jacie Schwoerer, Josiah Schwoerer, Jadeyn Schwoerer, Journey Schwoerer;
The family will receive guests Friday March 10, 2017 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral home 710 East Second Street in Casper. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 10:30am at Highland park community Church with interment and military honors to follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in William's memory.
