William Riggs

September 17, 1946 — June 11, 2016

William J. Riggs, 69 of Casper Wyoming passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 peacefully at his home. William was born on September 17, 1946 in Kemmerer Wyoming to Harriet Wilde and William "Billy Jack" Riggs.

William served in the US Army in 1965. He owned several businesses and worked numerous construction jobs during his life. He was the definition of the "Jack of All Trades."

William would open his home to anyone and everyone who needed a helping hand and never asked for anything in return. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and playing music. His biggest joy was watching old western movies with his faithful dog Jack. His laugh was contagious and will never be forgotten by his family and friends who he loved spending time with, especially his good friend and ex-wife Mary Riggs.

In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his brother Wayne Riggs, sister Debbie Trank, daughter Quinn Riggs, and sons Randy Gomez and James Kirkwood.

He is survived by his children, Jack (Kathy) of Casper, Sadie Martinez (Ernie) of Rawlins, Ann Riggs of Casper, Vella Smith, Theresa Brown (Ike) of Rawlins, Al Gomez of Rawlins, Damian (Jen) of Rawlins, Johnny (KD) of Rawlins, Mary Gomez of Gillette, Mike Kirkwood of Gretna, LA, Randy Kirkwood of Casper, and Linda Schulz (Scott) of Casper, brothers John Riggs (Laura) of Powell, Dino Riggs, and sisters Laura Dokter of Thermopolis, Marge Porter of Casper and Jan Allen of Thermopolis. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis Wyoming on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00am, followed by a gathering at Hot Springs Park.
