William Francis "Bill" Henry, 96, of Casper, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper. He was born on May 31, 1923 to William Patrick and Anna Henry in Aurora, Illinois. He and his sister, Mary Agnes Henry attended Holy Angels Catholic Grade School and William graduated from West Aurora High School in 1942. After graduation Bill joined the United States Air Force. He attended his Basic Training in Miami Beach from November 1942 until April 1943. He was then stationed in England for a year. During his service Bill was sent to France and Germany. He served valiantly during WWII and his honorable discharge was given on November 15, 1945.
During his time in the service in May of 1943 he met the love of his life, Dolores Laura Boyles. Bill and Dolores were married on January 26, 1946 at Our Lady of Good Council Church and together they had four sons, William J. Henry, Robert L. Henry, John M. Henry, and James C. Henry.
After Bill left the service, he went to work for the CB&Q Railroad as an electrician from 1945 until 1966, he also worked at Pike's Dairy and O'Leary's Barber Shop. In 1967, he took a position as an Electrician for the City of Aurora until his retirement as the Foreman in 1982.
When Bill retired he and Dolores moved to Bozeman, Montana where they stayed until Dolores passed away in 2001. Bill then relocated to be closer to his son, James and family in Casper. During his time in Casper, Bill would enjoy long drives, especially the ones that would take him back to Bozeman to visit his good friends. He also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, baseball (Go Cubs!), Football, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and his family is certain of his next life in heaven.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores Laura Henry; and his sons, Robert L. Henry and James C. Henry.
Survived by daughter in law, Lynda Henry, whom he loved and cherished like his own daughter; sons, William J. Henry and John M. Henry both of Las Vegas; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Agnes Petersohn; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, November 11, 2019 at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church, 4100 Casper Mountain Road, Casper. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Bozeman, MT.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice in Bill's name.
