William Henry (Bill) Gerhart passed away at Central Wyoming Hospice on January 16, 2011. He was born at home on Conwell Street, in Casper on Feb. 15th, 1924 to William Harrison and Josephine Gerhart.
He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1941. He served in the Army in the Medical Corp in the Pacific Theater (Hawaii & Guam) from 1943 to 1945. He married Irene M. Hauf on April 28th, 1948 in Casper. He was Life Member of Casper V.F.W. Post 9439 and Casper Eagles Lodge 306. He worked for Nagel Motors of Casper from 1948 until 1989 when he retired and as a member of Sam's Whirlwind RV club spent most winters with Irene in Yuma, Arizona. Hobbies were many but his passions were fishing, RV-ing and spending winters sightseeing in Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Irene of 62 years. He is survived by his 2 sons, Bill of Cheyenne, WY and Joe (Rlea) of Casper and 1 daughter Renie (Greg) Lewallen of Casper, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm Friday January 21, at Highland Park Community Church with burial at Highland Cemetery.
