Willard Garrett Baker

April 17, 1928 — November 26, 2018

Willard "Bink" Garrett Baker, 90, of Casper, passed away Monday November 26th, 2018.

Bink was born on April 17, 1928 in Beallsville, Ohio to Francis and Hazel Baker. He was the 3rd of nine children.

Bink attended school in Beallsville and graduated from Beallsville High School in 1948. In 1950, He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952, in which time he was stationed in South Korea during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he went back to work at his old job while searching for his next adventure.

While having "drinks" one evening at a bar in Beallsville, he stumbled into a couple of ranchers from Wyoming who informed him that if he were to come out to Wyoming, he would have a job! This was the beginning of his "Cowboy" phase in life. He worked ranches in and around Sundance, Wyoming. This was a wonderful place to fulfill his love of hunting and fishing. This passion lead to his interest in taxidermy. While living in Sundance, he also took on other jobs, such as logging.

While living in Sundance, he met the love of his life, Kathy. Amazed by all his family, he married Kathy on September 2, 1975. Together they had two daughters, Brenda and Sheri. Together, with the two girls, they relocated to Upton where Bink began his career on the Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement. Throughout his career, he worked hard and provided for his family.

In 2000, Kathy and Bink moved to Riverton, WY and then to Casper, WY in 2014 for the remainder of his life. Together, Kathy and he spent 43 wonderful years together.

Bink had several loves in his life. He loved to fish and anyone who has vivid memories of being with him, includes times spent fishing at one time or another.

Bink also dearly loved his family. He would spend as much time as he could with Kathy. He loved spoiling his daughters and two granddaughters. He enjoyed watching his daughters and granddaughters with all their sports and activities.

He would take his family to the outdoors as much as possible. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

He loved playing cards and making paper airplanes with his granddaughters. They said Papa Bink made the best paper airplanes.

Family and friends were important to Bink. His eyes would light up when someone he knew walked in the room. He was such a warm person and made everyone feel loved when they were around them. He was selfless and would do anything for anyone.

Bink was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Hazel Baker, brothers Warren, Wilford and Lowell Baker.
