Walter was born in Seattle, WA on January 14, 1942 to May A. Schneider and Walter R. Lochmiller, Sr. He passed away in Casper, WY on December 11, 2015.
When he was 4 years old, the family moved to Hawaii where he was raised. He graduated from Kailua High School in 1960. He then attended the Pittsburgh Institution of Aeronautics and received his Aircraft and Power Plane license. He returned to Hawaii and worked for Otis Elevator. He moved to California, while in California he worked for Otis Elevator and the San Francisco Airport as a mechanic for United Airlines. In 1970, he returned to Hawaii to work for Otis Elevator.
He married Hale in 1976 and together they raised seven children. They moved to Casper, WY in 1980 where he became the local representative for Otis Elevator. He continued to work for Otis until his retirement in 1999.
He was a proud member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Locals 126 and 25, and Our Lady of Fatima Church.
His hobbies first and foremost include one of his loves, a '57 BSA and a '76 Triumph Trident. He loved to take his family out to dinner by choosing a dot on the map, even when it was in the 'boondocks.' He enjoyed his motorcycle rides with friends to dinners at Alcova or breakfasts in Medicine Bow. He enjoyed his trips to Sturgis (1983 - 1992) and Steamboat Springs because "there was room for only two on the bike." He also enjoyed being "Pop-Pop" to his grandchildren.
He was welcomed to eternal rest by his grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and his sister, Joanne Olsen.
He is survived by his wife, Hale, their children; Jeffrey, Carolyn (Daniel) Alexander, Julianne (Michael) Braunberger, Josette (Cory) Bryngelson, Jennifer (Jack) Spillers, Jeanelle and Sean; his brother Robert (Nancy) Lochmiller, brother in law Greg Olsen; grandchildren, Jeane'e, Gillian, Jack III, Bradon, and Reeve. He is also survived by many brothers in law and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many others who loved him.
