Virginia Laura Lindsay
The family will hold a celebration of Virginia's life at a later date to be announced.
Cremation has taken place at her request. She died February 16, 2006 at Popular Living Center following a short illness.
Virginia was born March 16, 1918 in the small mining town of Laura, Virginia. The daughter of Lida and Ralph Campbell, she was the first baby to be born in this town and as such was named after it. The Appalachia Mountains was the playground of her youth, while a one- room schoolhouse educated both her and her younger brother Robert together.
When Virginia was 18 her family embarked on a journey westward to Wyoming where she later met her husband Charles E. Lindsay. Charles was a railroad man and skilled carpenter and Virginia a busy homemaker who tried to stay at home while raising their 8 children, but out of necessity went to work as a nurses-aide for 35 years at what was then known as Memorial Hospital. Her main love was her children whom she cherished, but also of interest to her was the theatre, dance and reading. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
A motto for our mother would be that she thought kindness more important than wisdom, but recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom. From Theodore Rubin
