Virginia Holmes, age 92, of Casper, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 17, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to August and Lizzie (Neudeck) Albrecht. She was married to Don Holmes on September 6, 1946. They then moved to Casper and started their own business Holmes Display and Advertising Service which entailed setting up the store front for Kassis and other businesses in downtown Casper as well at Christmas time. Virginia was a very charitable person who gave to many charities. She enjoyed gardening; peonies and chrysanthemums were her favorite flowers and she loved trees. She liked to watch sports, she attended the first Kansas City Chiefs game and was a fan of the Broncos. She also enjoyed watching Turner Classic Movies.
Left to cherish her memory are her good friends and neighbors. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, entire family, husband and her canine companion.
Per Virginia's wishes no services will be held. Her closest friends will have a private memorial service in the spring.
Virginia requests that donations may be made to the Casper Humane Society in her honor.
