Graveside services for Virgene L. Schlattman Tanner Pulver, 83 a longtime resident of Campbell County, and Glendo, WY will be Friday March 21, 2008 11:00am at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming.
She passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center of natural causes. Virgene (Biggy) was born in Gibbon, Nebraska the daughter of William H. and Lamora M. Schlattman. She was born on July 7, 1924 along with a twin sister Virginia Burr, and had two brothers Bob and Don.
Virgene attended school in Gillette, Wyoming. On December 3, 1945 , she married Harold A. Tanner in Harden, Montana. From this union two children were born, Margie Nauta of Casper, Wyoming and Jerri Jill Wright of Kaycee, Wyoming. Margie and her husband Carl Nauta have five children Rene' of Douglas and David of Washington DC. and Justin and Kirby Nauta of Spearfish, S.D. and Susan Ditson of Denver, Colo. Jerri Jill married Jack Wright and they have two children. After the death of Harold Tanner she married Milton Pulver November 11, 1988 in Douglas, Wyo. Mel and Virgene lived their life together in Glendo, Wyo. until his death September 10, 2006. Virgene worked for the Campbell County School District, Campbell County Court House and Platte County School District in Glendo, Wy. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob and Don Schlattman, and a twin sister Virginia Burr and J.C.'s wife Amy Wright. Virgene is survived by her two girls, and seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Virgene and Harold ranched for many years south of Gillette on the Tanner Ranch until Harold's death. She loved to work outdoors on the ranch and in her flower gardens, she loved to go rock hunting and play bingo and encourage her family in their rodeo events.
