Violet Gail Christopherson, age 82, of Casper, passed away January 28, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Violet was born a twin on March 19, 1936, on a homestead outside of Willard, Colorado, to Frank and Blanche (Sevic) Hnizdil. Violet graduated from Marino High School in 1954. Violet went to Denver, Colorado, shortly after her High School graduation and attended School at St. Anthony Hospital to obtain her Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate. Violet was working in a jewelry store in Sterling, Colorado, and there she met Phillip Christopherson, who swept her away. They got married on December 12, 1956. Violet and Phil had 3 children and settled down in Casper, Wyoming and together they built, owned and operated PC Transport. After 37 years of marriage and the loss of her husband, she became President of PC Transport until her passing. Violet enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and artifact hunting on her ranches in Ten Sleep and in the Big Horns. Violet had a great love for gardening and spending time with her family. Violet was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 37 years, Phil Christopherson, sister, Anna Lee, brothers, Frank, Tom, and Chuck. Violet was survived by her sons, Phillip (Lori) Christopherson, Kevin (Ruth) Christopherson, daughter, Gail (Ab) Christopherson-Brown, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, twin-brother, Vernon Hnizdil, siblings, Addie and Paul, and longtime companion, Jack Fauber, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7th and Missouri Chapel, 2627 E 7th St, Casper, WY 82609. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 1:00pm at Meeteetse Cemetery.
