Vern Bruner passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, following a lengthy illness. He was born July 29, 1926, in Sand Texas to Ben and Louise Bruner. He grew up in Lamesa Texas.
He worked as a leather man, styling beautiful saddles and leather items. Later he became a fireman, and fought many fires and conducted preventive health exercises.
December 7, 1950, Vern and Virginia Scott were marrried, they had two sons, Jerry and John and in the mid 1950's they moved to Thermopolis, Wyoming. There Vern had a shoe repair shop. In 1972, they moved to Casper, Wyoming wher Vern worked for Petrotomics and later for Natrona Co. high school.
He is survived by his sons, Jerry and wife Gloria, John and wife Jeannie; six grandchildren, Ben and Sylvia Bruner, Sam and Ashley Bruner, Dan and Edna Bruner, and Kelly an P.J. Durall; and great grandchildren, Greta Brunner, Zackary, Nickie, Chris, Gabriel and Travis Mattingly, Hailey, Tyler, Madie, and Jeffrey Bruner, and Kaitlyn and Taylor Durall.
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents and brother and sister.
