Vern H. Wagner 84, of Casper
At his request Cremation has taken place and a Family Memorial Service was held at his
Home on December 20, 2005.

His ashes will be buried at Oregon trails Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming.
He was born December 23, 1920, in Saint Louis, Missouri, the 5th son of Herbert J. and
Cora (Atnip) Wagner. As a child he moved with his parents to Craig, Colorado, where he
graduated from Moffat County High School. In 1939; he then enlisted in the Army Air Corps.
He served in Hawaii and was present in Honolulu when Pearl Harbor was attacked. There
after, he served on Christmas Island in the Pacific Theater and then in the European Theater
in England and France.

In 1945 he married Jacqueline Major at Bath, England. The couple first resided in Craig,
where Vern worked for Texaco. In 1947 he was transferred to Casper by Texaco, and the
family has resided in Casper since that time. Vern was welding supervisor at the time he
took early retirement in 1977.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening during his retirement, and thoroughly enjoyed and spoiled his
granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Stacy, Paul, John, and Richard, and a Sister, Minnie Hartman.

Survivors include His wife Jacqueline of 60 years, of Casper, sons John and wife Anne
Wagner of Cheyenne and Stephen and wife Susan Wagner of Casper; four granddaughters
Crystal Bennett, Lacy Flury, and Aron and Abby Wagner; two great grandchildren Michelle and Michael Bennett;
and numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Casper.
