CASPER -- Funeral Liturgy for Verlie C. Arnold, 94, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Msgr. James O'Neill and Father Lucas Simango concelebrating. Burial is in Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
Viewing will be 3 to 6 p.m. Monday with a Vigil Service at 5 p.m. at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
She died Nov. 2, 2006, at Poplar Living Center.
She was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Helena, Mont., the daughter of George Houle and Corinne Hartman.
She graduated from St. John's Hospital Training School for nurses in 1932, and married Ray L. Arnold in Las Vegas, Nev., on Nov. 26, 1932.
She worked as an R.N. at Boeing Manufacturing's infirmary during World War II, at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, Kan., until 1956, and at Wyoming Medical Center until retirement in 1979. She was president of the Wyoming Nurses Association in the 1970s.
She was an award winner at the county fair and the state fair for needlepoint designs.
She enjoyed tole painting, sewing, needle work and crossword puzzles, and did some modeling for Margaret Ks.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Azama of Casper and Patricia Russo of Sommerville, N.J.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
