Velma Jane Ausman, age 75, of Casper, passed away February 27, 2018 at Central Wyoming Hospice. Velma was born March 5, 1942 in Millville, Wisconsin to Fred and Elma (Sprague) Withington. She grew up on the family farm in Wisconsin and later graduated from Wisconsin State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education. Velma was an English teacher earlier in life and was later employed with the Casper Event Center where she was promoted to Supervisor. After 27 years of service she retired on September 1, 2017. Velma fellowshipped with The Way International and was a Household Fellowship Coordinator for The Way International in Casper. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers; Albert and Roger Withington, sisters, Cathleen, Nancy and Bonnie Withington, along with many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Newcomer Casper Chapel on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. with Mr. John Dungey, a Minister with The Way International officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or Rocky Mountain Oncology in Velma's memory.
