Valerie A. Warner

May 25, 1940 — March 21, 2014

Valerie Warner passed away on March 21st after a life long battle with the effects of Sturge Weber Syndrome, a rare birth defect. Valerie was born in Casper Wyoming on May 25th 1940 to Raymond and Mildred Warner.

Valerie graduated from Worland High School in 1958 and started her secretarial career at the Worland Oxygen company before moving back to Casper. Valerie worked for the Wyoming Retailers association for the next 10 years before being employed by Leo Riley and associates for 34 years before retiring.

Valerie was a past Girl Scout Leader in her early years and was a past member of the Desk and Derrick Club, where she enjoyed traveling to Canada. She also enjoyed cross word puzzles and was an avid reader.

Valerie will always be remembered for her indomitable spirit, even in the face of a life plagued with effects of her birth defect, she never felt sorry for herself or asked the question why her, she just soldiered on and did her best. She will also be remembered for her impeccable dress and fashion.

Valerie was proceeded in death by both her grandparents and her father Raymond Warner.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Warner of Casper; her brother, Milo Warner of Highlands Ranch Colorado; Uncles, Kenny Warner of Arizona and Bud Warner of Casper; Aunt, Yvonne Nielsen of Lincoln, Nebraska; and various cousins.

No services were held per her request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Central Wyoming Hospice at 319 S. Wilson, Casper Wyoming 82601.
