Travis Neal Schlager,39, of Wright, Wyoming, went to be with our Lord on June 7, 2018. Travis was born on August 13, 1978 to Timothy N. and Kerre C. (Thomas) Schlager in Casper, WY.
Travis graduated from NCHS in 1996 and received an Associates degree in mechanics from Casper College. He had many awards and accomplishments in 4-H, FFA and was a gifted horseman from a young age. Travis was very passionate about sports. He was active and talented in baseball, volleyball, golf and skiing. As a young man he developed the need for speed, so Travis took up 4-wheeling and snowmobiling. He was an amazing father to his children and they thoroughly enjoyed every moment with him. Travis treasured spending time with family and friends while; hunting, fishing, camping and rodeo. He loved and cared dearly for his pets Copper, Calki, Zip and Cami. One of his many greatest enjoyments in life was making people laugh. He will always be remembered for his joyous smile.
At a young age, Travis worked at the family business Noland Feed Inc. and later went on to work at the 760 Ranch. After completing college, Travis went on to be a mechanic at Dave's Automotive. He later got a job working at WYDOT for 17 years, where he received many awards and achievments. After moving to Wright, WY he became a mechanic for Tru Tech.
He was blessed with two handsome sons Tyler N. Schlager in 2000 and Taven J. Schlager in 2006. On July 15, 2009 he married Melinda Aholt, and became a loving husband and step-father to Caleigh M. and Cody B. Buckingham. Travis and Mindy were blessed with beautiful daughter Cassidy A. Schlager in 2010.
Travis is survived by wife Mindy, son Tyler Schlager, son Taven Schlager, daughter Cassidy Schlager, Step-daughter Caleigh Buckingham and step-son Cody Buckingham, mother and father: Kerre and Tim, sister Karen Cummins(Kevin), Grandmother Corinne Eckhart, Grandfather W. Neal Schlager, Uncle Craig Thomas (Sandy), Aunt Kristal Kennedy(Lance Putzier), Aunt Kathy Flowers (Greg),Uncle Steve Schlager (Michele), and numerous cousins and friends.
He was proceeded in death by Grandmother Mary Schlager, Uncle Daniel Schlager, Step-Grandfather Chuck Eckhart, Step-Grandfather Del Thomas.
His life will be cherished forever by his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at Grace Reformed Church 804 S Wolcott, Casper, WY at 3pm on Friday June 15,2018. In lieu of flowers, donations in Travis's name maybe sent to the donor's choice.
