Services for Travis Lee Rodgers Martinez, 16, will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday March 26, 2009 at the Faith Assembly Church of God. He passed away suddenly on March 20, 2009 in Casper. He was born August 13, 1992 to Brandi Lee Rodgers in Casper, WY.
He was very close to his family and friends, especially his two "Gramas", Faith and Colleen. He was the boy teachers would sit new students next to in school because they knew he would welcome them and take them under his wing. Everyone who met him loved him. He was known as the kid who could walk into a room of strangers and be friends with all of them within minutes. He had a smile that could melt your heart. He was active in agriculture and Future Farmers of America for some of his school years, and won many awards. He played the drums, and for a while, had a band with friends who "jammed" in his family's garage. He loved animals, especially his dog Lucky.
He is survived by his Mom of Evansville, two sisters, Vanessa "Ness", and Tiffany "Tiff", Maternal Grandma Colleen Rodgers and Great-Grandma Faith Parsley. And many, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, his "Brother" TJ Graveman, and countless true and loyal friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal Grandfather Kenny Lee Rodgers, Great-Grandfather "Lee" Rodgers, Great-Grandmother "Maxine" Rodgers, a cousin Steven Ray MacMillan, uncle Bob Telfer, and his beloved Lucky. He is also survived by relatives in Torrington, WY.
Memorials may be made to Hilltop National Bank in care of the Travis Lee Rodgers Martinez Trust. Newcomer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
