Tracey Carol LaPlatney, 59, of Casper, WY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Tracey was born September 7, 1960 in Casper to Robert and Eva Boatman. She received her education in Casper at Kelly Walsh High School. Tracey married Daniel C. LaPlatney on October 30, 1992.
Tracey worked for Jefferson-Lewis County BOCES for 9 years as a paraeducator for special needs students. She later worked as a phlebotomist for 10 years. During her employment, Tracey developed many close relationships with not only her co-workers, but her donors as well. She never met a stranger. Her smile and laughter were contagious wherever she was. Tracey loved to go camping. She took pride and enjoyment in organizing annual family reunion camping trips. Tracey and Dan loved to travel. Her favorite trips included traveling through Utah and Nevada with their camper and, traveling back to New York to visit family. Tracey's greatest love was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Tracey was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eva (Tolman) Boatman; daughter, Miranda J. Baker; and aunts, Gaye (Tolman) Peterson, Barbara (Tolman) Winstead, and Diane (Tolman) Sixberry. Survivors include her husband, Dan LaPlatney; sons, Jonah (Jessarae) Baker and Steve (Amber) Baker; grandchildren, Darien, Jesse, Tasia, Chance, Tristan, Finlee, and Duncan; great-grandchildren, Rahzaya and one on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Mark Boatman, sister, Eva Boatman, her favorite uncle, Richard Tolman, and many close cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:00am at Newcomer Funeral Homes & Crematories in Casper, WY. A reception will immediately follow at the Evansville Community Center located at 71 N Curtis Street.
