Theodore S. Cross, 83, of Casper, went to the Lord on Sunday April 12, 2015 when the sun was shining and the sky was blue at Central Wyoming Hospice.
He was born on January 1, 1932 in Newark, New Jersey to George W. and L. Pearl (Wallace) Cross. He graduated from Middletown High School in Middletown, New York in 1950. He attended St. Lawrence University, MIT, and the University of Wyoming earning his BS in Math and a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering. While he worked at Pacific Power he designed several substations in the area. He chose to go into teaching at Casper College where he taught mathematics, engineering, and served as Dean of Career Studies and worked with the mining program. In 1956 he married the love of his life, Genevieve E. Miller, a Casper native.
He loved hiking, camping, and going for walks with his family and dogs. He was an active member of the Cornerstone EFC. He is known by his friends at Primrose and Central Wyoming Hospice as their Yellow Ted.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim (Mike) Long, of Powell; Kay Cross, of Casper; granddaughter, Brenda (Micah) Lewis, of Spearfish, SD; grandson, David Long, of Spearfish, SD; and one great-grandchild on the way (Baby Lewis); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; son, Jan Cross; brother, L. Wallace Cross, of Poughkeepsie, NY; and his parents, of Middletown, NY.
A memorial service will be held at the Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015 with Reverend Jack Olsen officiating. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice.
