Terry Camp, 70, of Casper passed away on January 4, 2024 following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 20, 1953 in Camp Lejeune, NC and raised by her parents Robert and Ardith (Cox) Marchant.
She graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1971.She met Carl "Buzz" Camp of Casper while working for Dave Johnston Power Plant and they were married on Casper Mountain in 1977.
Throughout her life, she pursued many interests and occupations. In addition to the power plant, she worked for Casper Lumber and Indian Ice before finding her true calling in 2005 as an EMT- Intermediate for both Evansville Fire-EMS and Wyoming Medical Center. She was with Evansville Fire-EMS for 6 years, working herself up to Ambulance Director before leaving to work full time for Wyoming Medical Center where she not only worked on the ambulance crew, but also fulfilled additional roles as a QA/QI coordinator and Charge Capture Analyst before retiring in 2022. Terry loved putting her hands and mind to work, pursuing interests in auto mechanics, woodworking and numerous home renovation projects over the years.
Following her innate love of the ocean, she became a Certified Master Scuba Diver Instructor, allowing she and Carl to explore many open water territories, among her favorites were those surrounding the Cayman Islands and the Gulf of Mexico.
Above all, Terry's greatest passion (aside from shopping!) was caring for the many animal companions she raised, including Irish Setters, Golden Retrievers, Labradors and German Shepherds, as well as a part-Bobcat and a Savannah cat.
In addition to her husband of 46 years, Carl of Casper, she is survived by her step-daughter, Amber Camp of Salt Lake City, 2 dogs and 1 cat; in-laws Len (Roxie) Camp of Casper, as well as several cousins including Elsie Martens of Lovell, WY, nieces and nephews and so many wonderful friends/co-workers. She is predeceased by her parents, several aunts and uncles as well as the many animal companions who've been waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with her, once again.
A memorial service is planned to take place at Edness K. Wilkins State Park in Evansville- Centennial Shelter on July 20th, 2024 to start at 6 pm. Carpooling is encouraged for those wishing to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to their local Humane Society in Terry's name.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Marjorie Wells, MD, Epsilon Health Solutions, Banner Wyoming Medical Center and Shepherd of the Valley Care Center for their dedication and care of Terry over the last several years.
