CASPER -- At her request, no services will be held for Teresina "Tina" Ulibarri, 92. She was visited by Father Kevin and Father Lucas of Saint Anthony Church, received last rites and died July 20, 2007, surrounded by her family after a long valiant battle.
She was born July 1, 1915, in Pasamontes, N.M., the daughter of Alfonso Jimenez and Isabelle Sandoval. She lived most of her life in Clayton, N.M., until 2000 when she moved to Casper to live with her daughter and be near her family.
She married Malaquias Ulibarri in Clayton and they had one daughter, Camilla.
She was a homemaker who had a gift for growing beautiful flowers. She loved to collect rocks and loved to sew. She did housework for the "ladies" in Clayton for more than 30 years and always spoke highly of all of them.
She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Francis Catholic Church in New Mexico.
She led a simple life and was known for her beauty and unrelenting strength by all those that knew her. She carried herself with poise and confidence and feared nothing. She lived her life with no regrets and one of the last things she said was to "enjoy life while you can.''
She loved her family and enjoyed her visits with them. We will all miss her greatly.
She is survived by her daughter, Camilla Cardenas; three grandchildren and their spouses; seven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and Mike Cardenas Jr., whom she considered her son and loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Lily Jimenez; Margaret Jiron and her husband, Fabiena Rivera and her husband; two brothers, Frank and Bert Miera, and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to North Platte Home Health and Hospice, 130 N. Ash, Ste. 201, Casper, 82601.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
