Sylvia Lillian Crater, age 89, of Casper, Wyoming passed away May 29, 2019 at Wyoming Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Sylvia was born July 9, 1929 in Newcastle, Wyoming to Joseph and Marie (Mynar) Potmesil. She was the youngest of ten children born. She was a homemaker her entire life, focusing on her family. Her hobbies were building and putting together miniatures and attending card clubs. She loved to collect dolls and loved being a mother, grandmother and friend to many. Sylvia was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Edward C. Johnson, second husband, Barry V. Crater, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings- seven brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Michael E. Johnson, daughter, Linda L. (Paul) Steffey, twin daughters, Donis (Russel) West and Diane (Robert) Rossin, son, Vince E. Crater, 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, and her loyal grand dog, Nellie.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Highland Cemetery in Casper.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to American Lung Association, St. Jude's Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
