Susan was born March 19, 1965 and passed into the loving arms of her Savior January 1, 2024.
Susan was born to Marvin and Linda (Redig) Miller in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Shortly after she was born, Marvin had completed his time in the Army, and they returned to Casper. Marvin worked in the oilfield, and his career would take them to several different states during her childhood years. The first stop after Casper, was Anchorage, Alaska. It was in Anchorage that Susan would find a love for the great outdoors. She enjoyed watching snowmobile races, sledding, ice skating, and really anything that she could do outside!
When the family was once again relocated back to Casper, Susan really fell in love with horses. She spent her youth in 4-H, doing anything equestrian. She rode Western Saddle, English Saddle, did Barrel Racing and Pole Bending, and even horse judging. She continued to support 4-H as a leader after she graduated high school.
Susan was a worker, and whatever she set her mind to doing, she did it to the absolute best of her ability. After graduation, she went to work in retail sales at Loaf and Jug. After a few years, she change from retail sales and worked for Wonder Bread as a route delivery driver. Her first route for many years was Douglas and Glendo. She loved serving her customers there, but when an opportunity came up to take a route in Casper, she jumped on it. It was here that she began to know people in the grocery stores around Casper, and she would meet Larry. Larry was a butcher at Buttrey/ Osco. Susan was a bright spot every time she walked into the store, her and Larry developed a relationship, and eventually started dating, and the two got married September 7, 1996. He was the love of her life!
Susan continued in her route sales, after leaving Wonder Bread, she went to work for Pepsi, until she could no longer work. She was always a joy to her customers; her smile was contagious, and she seemed to always have one. One of her favorite stops on her Pepsi route was Metro Animal Shelter. Susan would sometimes stay a little longer than planned so she could pet the cats and dogs. She loved all animals, and if she could have taken them home, she probably would have!
Susan loved her family, and she really enjoyed the times when they got together. She would have lunch with her Grandma Marie as often as she could, then sneak off to do a little junking in the afternoons. She was an encourager, always trying to help people be the best that they could be. She loved going out on trail-rides and taking friends to see all that the great outdoors had to offer. Susan will always be remembered for her smile, her interactions with friends and family, her sense of humor, and her love that she had for animals.
Susan is survived by her husband of 27 years, Larry. Her father Marvin, her Maternal Grandmother Marie Redig, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 2PM at Newcomer's Funeral Chapel. Afterward all will be invited out to The Mills Community Center for a time of fellowship and food.
