Steven John Stevenson

January 23, 1990 — September 5, 2017

Steven John Stevenson died unexpectedly on September 4, 2017 at the age of 27 while working on his vehicle in Gillette, Wyoming.

Steven was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and was adopted at the age of 14 by Gerald and Shannon Stevenson. He graduated from Douglas High School in May of 2009 and began working in the oil field, a tradition started by his grandfather, John Schmid. He enjoyed running equipment and working with the many co-workers and friends he made throughout his short life.

Steven was well-liked by everyone who met him. He was kind, funny and developed a work ethic that his family was very proud of. He enjoyed everything outdoors including fishing, hunting, and camping. He was an avid self-taught bow hunter and had a natural ability in most of the sports he participated in. Steven loved football and wrestling and competed in them with his many "friends".

Steven is survived by his parents; his grandmother, Blondi Schmid; his grandparents, Gary and Carol Stevenson; his aunts, Christina Magagna, Frankie Stevenson, and Andi (Scott) Bradon; his uncle, Beau Stevenson; his cousins, Thomas J. Stevenson and Michael Magagna. He is predeceased by his grandfather, John Schmid.

No funeral services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Jubilee House, PO Box 574, Douglas, Wyoming 82633.

Not flesh of my flesh, Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart - but in it.
