Stephen A. Emmerich-Kaufhold, 64, of Casper, passed away Sept. 3, 2009 at his residence.
He was born May 25, 1945, in Lancaster, PA, the eldest son of Stephen J. and Alberta M. Harnish Emmerich.He earned his GED in 1966. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving at the Dover Air Force Base in Maryland. Stephen was united in marriage to Helen McMonigal in 1969 and to this union one son was born. After his divorce he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Kaufhold in May of 1978 in Jackson Hole,WY and they later divorced. He was employed as a bartender at various bars in Casper including the Eagles where he was a member. He later drove the bus for the Holy Cross Food Bank. He was last employed at the Metro Animal Shelter in Casper until ill health forced retirement. He spent two years at the Graves Ranch and served as hunting camp cook on the Red Fork of the Powder River. His hobbies included fishing, camping and anything outdoors. He enjoyed fixing things and tinkering with his own inventions.
Survivors include his son, Jason Maskulyak (Tammy) of Shermans Dale, PA, two sisters; Peg Haugen (James) of Lancaster, PA and Susan Maher ( Paul) of Casper, WY. and a brother, R. Michael Emmerich of Lancaster, PA. and two grandchildren, Jakobe and Hannah and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services with full military honors will be Wed. Sept. 9, 2009, 2:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Food Bank or St. Anthony's Tri-parish school.
