Funeral services for Shirley Lake will be held, 10:00 AM
Monday, December 14,2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 710 E. 2nd St. Casper. Visitation will be Sunday Dec 13 from 2 to 4 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
Shirley age 79, passed away Tuesday, December 9th 2009 after a short battle with cancer. Shirley was born August 20, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She moved to Casper as a young woman in
1950. She met and married James Lake and together raised their family. She retired from Mountain Bell with 32 years service. Wanting to keep busy, Shirley enjoyed working part time at the hospital for several more years. After her second retirement, she volunteered with the Senior Center in Casper. Her favorite things in life were the years she and Jim toured on their Harley and all of the trips she took to visit her children and grands.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gary (Pam) Lake of Washington, Doug (Constance) Lake of Casper, Patrick (Tabatha) Lake of Casper, Kelly (John) Felten of Colorado and Molly (John) Dvorachek of Texas. Also 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Lake, her mother, Hazel and father Arnold Hansen, her Sister Dolores, her step son G. James Lake and great granddaughter Kendra Lake.
