Shirley was born August 21, 1927 at Tryon, Nebraska, to James Ray and Grace (Gordon Newberry. The family moved to Wyoming when she was a child, and she lived most of her life in Wyoming, first near Pavilion where she attended school, then to Casper and Cheyenne. She retired in 1997 after 31 years of employment in the law office of Robert David in Cheyenne, after which she returned to Casper to be near her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by sons Daniel and David of Casper, Dan's wife Lona, grandchildren Rebecca McGlade and her husband Dan, and Danny Cantine, 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas Cantine, Nicholas McGlade, and Katie Jo Mcglade. She is also survived by brothers
John and Charles Newberry and sister Ardis Winningham, all residing in Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, infant daughter Rebecca, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Shirley loved her family, her flowers, and her life.
