Sharon Vernice Evans, passed away Sept 3rd, 2015 at Central Wyoming Hospice Center, in Casper Wyoming.
Sharon was born Feb 18,1941 in Lovell, WY to Francis and Voilet Wood. She was the youngest of seven children, three of whom passed away in infancy. She graduated from Lovell High School in 1959.
On August 14, 1961 she married J.C. Sherley in Lovell, and together they had 5 children.
She was a devoted Mother and that devotion carried on when her children started families of their own. She was proud of her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and always made sure they felt her love and support.
Sharon also had a real appreciation for the mountains. She loved camping, fishing and spending time in nature. These things brought her so much joy!
Sharon received her CNA training in 1978, and she practiced as a CNA for 22 years. During that time she worked for Wyoming Medical Center where she then retired in 2000.
She is survived by her 5 children. Carolyn Kiteley and husband Jeff, of Hanksville, UT. Jay Sherley and wife Anita of Helena, MT. Jeri Markworth and husband Chuck of Casper, WY. Sheri Sherley of Casper, WY. Dutch Sherley and wife Robin of Casper, WY. Fifteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother's Fenton Wood and Don Wood and sister Elaine Sweat.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held September 17, 2015 1p.m. in Casper WY, at the Beartrap Meadow East Shelter.
