Sharon Lee Schuetz

Services for Sharon Lee Schuetz, will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (51 Primrose in Paradise Valley), Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Chaplain Marvin Skogen.

Sharon passed away August 26, 2011 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center with family at her side.

She was born May 5, 1939 in Casper Wyoming to Vira and Arthur. After Arthur's death Vira remarried and Sharon was raised by her loving mother and 'father' Vira and Wayne Lotspeich.

She met J.C. Schuetz at a singles fellowship sponsored by the Casper Recreation Center. They married and had 4 children and shared 42 years together.

She never missed any of her children's events and also was her husband's greatest supporter. She returned to the work force after her children were in junior and senior high school. She worked at a mortgage company, in retail, secretary for J.C. at his insurance agency and as office manager for Jon Brady Esq. She assisted Jon with the Committee on Foreign Relations and hosted several dignitaries during their visit to Casper. She was an election judge at the Natrona County Library for over 20 years. For the last 15 years she worked at Maurice Griffith Manor as a caregiver and friend to the residents and employees.

She will be remembered as a kind, loving and gracious woman willing to help others and fight for her ideas. She never claimed to be an expert but she would take on many a task that her children volunteered her for, sometimes without her knowledge. Her children knew she could do anything. She sewed costumes for their high school "Follies" performances, even though she didn't know how to sew. She helped on a Girl Scout 50 mile horse trek, without being a cowgirl. She drove through blizzards to make sure her daughter could x-country ski. She camped with the family in an old green army tent even though she was claustrophobic. She became a soldier's mother to her son. And she always let her children raid her refrigerator and they could stay at her home as long as they needed.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, J.C., her son-in-law Kent Erickson, both parents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Susan W. Erickson, PhD., Debra Rabourn (Steve), Wendy Schuetz all of Casper and son SFC Gregory (Deborah) serving in Guam, her brother Rick Lotspeich (Clare) of Austin, TX and five grand children and five great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Maurice Griffith Manor, Attn Velvet, 77 Gardenia, Casper, WY 82604; or donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
