Sharon Rae Penton
69, of Casper, WY, went to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with leukemia on December 26, 2010. She was born November 26, 1941 in Huntley, Wyoming the daughter of Philip and Pauline Helzer. She had three sisters and one brother.
She moved to Casper, WY in February 1949 to a farm west of Casper. She married Hugh Penton on April 19, 1958 in Glenrock, WY. She was involved in her childrens school life, held various offices in P.T.A., and was coordinator for her voting district.
She belonged to the Piece by Piece quilting club also the Germans from Russia Historical Society. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul.
She is survived by her husband: Hugh Penton; son: Ty (Sheri) Penton; daughter: Liz Penton; 2 granddaughters: Brandi (Justin) Kofoid and Chelsey Penton; 3 great grandchildren: Dakota, Adeline, and Annabell; brother: Ron (Linda) Helzer of Glenrock, WY. Also survived by her surrogate children, Rich Logan, Debbie Collins, Steve Gerlock, Bobbi Gerlock, Chris Lyon, Wendy Lyzell, and Linda Birdwell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Karen, and sisters Donna Doyle, Norma Gerlock, and Patty Kenney.
Her most memorable times were camping and fishing with her family, grandchildren, and long time friends "the Jacksons". Very many happy memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice or Casper Humane Society.
