Scott Dalton Frier
April 4, 1961 - December 2, 2020

Scott Dalton Frier was an extremely loving man who deeply cared about people in bigger ways than is imaginable. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to such an one-of-a-kind, loving, bigger-than-life man who held many titles - son, father, grandfather, friend, and many more. Scott shared fond memories with so many who continue to share his legacy in their own lives.

Born in Casper Wyoming, Scott lived the majority of his life in the Mojave Desert in California soaking up the tranquility of the small town known as Silver Lakes in Helendale, CA. Scott was a large presence in such a small community, making a difference in everything he did. As a lover of the beach, Scott dreamed of living in San Diego, CA. On his journey in his early twenties, Scott stopped in Daggett, CA to begin "temporary" work at a solar power facility. Little did he know, this pit-stop would turn into a lifelong commitment to changing the world by way of sunshine. Scott became personally invested and committed to the solar power industry.

Scott's personal touch, attention to detail, and family culture that he promoted brought him many years of success. From construction work to management and COO positions, Scott always dedicated himself to bettering the company, and helping those around him. He learned quickly, and shared the knowledge he gained to create his ideal better world, filled with renewable energy and giving back whenever possible. From California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Hawaii to Spain, South Africa, Morocco, the UAE, China, and many stops in between, Scott never stopped making a difference. Everyone who worked for or with Scott was a person first, and an employee second. He would walk on fire for the people he cared about, and never gave up on them.

Though the dream of living in San Diego did not pan out, Scott planted roots in California and fulfilled a new dream: he raised a beautiful family and made a difference in the world. Scott leaves behind many people who cared deeply about him, including his mother, Linda Gather, two younger brothers, Michael and Jimmy Gather, five children, Straughn, Shay, Warren, Morgan, and Sarah Frier, and eight beautiful grandchildren.

In life, some people are lucky enough to know someone who will pour themself into our success and happiness, helping us be the best version of ourselves. Scott Frier was that person for so many people. He was an energizing and inspiring presence in any and all situations, locations, and discussions. The beach was his happiest of places and he loved adventures, water parks, museums, art, architecture, politics, food (his love of oysters, Mexican food and sushi is legendary) and most importantly, those around him. He leaves behind wonderful memories worldwide and beyond with his family. Scott's passing is an indescribable loss to countless people.

Scott touched the lives of many through love, laughter, kindness, and hardwork. His journey does not end here. He will continue to inspire through the work he accomplished, and the people he loved. Whether you knew Scott as "Daddy Guy," "Mr. Frier," "Scott," "Buddy," or "Precious," you were lucky to have experienced the kindness that flowed from his heart. All that Scott wanted in life was to make everyone feel like family. Whether you are a blood relative, or an employee from long ago, we ask you to join us in celebrating the beautiful life of Scott D. Frier. A memorial service will be held at a later date, when we can safely allow for loved ones to travel to California, and gather for a celebration of life.
