Sarah" Louise "Turner 92 passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 31 2023 at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living.
Mom was born in Hooker, Oklahoma February 12, 1931, to George and Hilda Stateler. She had one Sister, Elizabeth Vitale.
Mom went to college at Oklahoma State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. That is where she met Calvin Turner, and they were married September 3, 1950. They had been married for 38 years. Our Dad passed away in 1988 and my mother never remarried. No one could replace our Dad.
They lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and had 3 children there, Randy Turner, Steve Turner and Nancy Turner Shultz. Sometime around 1960 the oil boom brought them to Casper, Wyoming where they had their last daughter, Carol Turner Fallon. Mom lived in Casper for 63 years.
Mom enjoyed being a homemaker and spent her time raising four children. Her hobbies were Bridge, Gardening, and playing the piano. She became an avid walker and walked everyday all over Deadhorse Hill and around with her dogs. She always had a dog for a companion.
Mom spent time volunteering at Welcome Wagon, Blue Envelope, Rehabilitation for the Blind and at the Hospital front desk and Gift shop.
Mom was a member of the petroleum ladies and enjoyed that a lot. She also enjoyed working at the Nicolaysen Gift Shop.
Mom has 3 grandchildren, Casey Shultz (Bradley Johnson), Dean Shultz, and Shannon Fallon; and 2 great grandchildren, Eleanor and Edith Johnson.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hilda Stateler; Sister, Elizabeth Vitale; and Husband, Calvin Turner.
She was a great Mom and will be sorely missed. We are just so grateful that her passing was gentle, and she was able to see two of her children the day before.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Highland Cemetery in Casper, Wyoming
