CASPER -- Services are pending for Samantha Ponce-Lara, 18.
She died Feb. 10, 2008, with her boyfriend, Antonio J. Moore, in a car accident in Casper.
She was born Oct. 22, 1989, in Bakersfield, Calif., the daughter of Carmello Ponce and Belinda Scarborough.
She lived in California until she was 13 years old. Then she came to Wyoming to live with her brother Benji, sister-in-law, Sarah, nephew Terrence and niece Mariah, who adored their "Auntie Sammie."
She attended Dean Morgan and continued her education at NCHS, where she graduated in 2007.
There wasn't a person she met that she didn't touch their hearts or made some kind of impression.
Her upbeat personality and her so called "blonde moments" always had everyone wondering what was next.
She was and still is surrounded by many loving family members, countless friends, especially the Lujan family, and she will be missed but never forgotten.
Survivors include her mother, Belinda Scarborough of California; brother, Benjamin Lara of Bar Nunn; five sisters, Christina Ponce,Maria Ponce, and Suzeanna Ponce, all of Bakersfield, Calif.; Valerie Ponce and Irene Ponce, both of Azusa, Calif., brother, Saborino Ponce, Bakersfield, Calif.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and her grandparents.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carmello Ponce.
Memorials may be made to the Samantha Ponce-Lara and Antonio Jermaine Moore Memorial Fund, sent in care of Hilltop National Bank in Casper.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
