Ryan Matthew Parsons

February 5, 1987 — March 12, 2020

Ryan Matthew Parsons (AKA Ryan J. O'Malley by his uncle Rod), age 33, of Casper, passed away March 12, 2020. Ryan was born February 5, 1987 in Sioux City, Iowa to Michael Dahl and Teresa Parsons.

Ryan was very charismatic, loving and kind-hearted. He cared deeply for his family and was always selfless; always wanting to help others more than himself.

Growing up in a tight-knit family, Ryan's cousins became as close to him as his sisters were; and aunts and uncles were never too far. Everyone was always together - just the way Ryan liked it.

Being an active writer, mixed martial artist, and an experimental cook, Ryan possessed many talents. If he wasn't impressively swinging his light sabers around, he was enjoying time with family, even sometimes cooking up a storm. When he did cook for you, not only were you presented with a delicious meal, but you were also fortunate enough to hear his original, often made-up on the spot songs as he sang the entire time he was at the stove. His latest being, "Mama had a baby t-rex, named it Ryan". In addition to the talents previously listed, Ryan was passionate about learning different accents and voices, never failing to make family and friends laugh. No matter your mood or the troubles the workday brought, he'd make it his mission to cheer you up, not quitting until he produced at least a smile.

Although Ryan didn't have any children of his own, he was crazy about his niece and nephews. When uncle Ryan was around, they knew it was time to play! From wrestling and playing video games; to showing them the Kamehameha move in Dragon Ball Z; to dumping out huge tubs of toys he's acquired through the years for them to play with, Ryan was young at heart and his enthusiasm shone even brighter around his niece and nephews.

If you knew Ryan, you knew he was the most loyal friend you could have in your corner. He would always lend an ear regardless of the topic, always willing to give you a hand with whatever you needed. Ryan was very artistic and imaginative, and he excelled in writing - winning him the Editor's Choice Award in 2004 for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry. Ryan was a bright spark and could talk for hours about space, music, geography, and of course, Dragon Ball Z, Star Wars, and video games. He's touched more hearts than he will ever know and will be eternally loved by many.

Ryan was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Parsons; grandmother, Emma Parsons; and cousins, Zackery and Bradley Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Teresa Parsons; step-father, Wes Wilson; father, Michael Dahl; sisters, Nicole Parsons and Megan Parsons; aunt, Sherri (Bill) Johnson; uncle, Rod Cummings; niece, Brooklyn; nephews, Jaxon, Liam, and Tyren; and many cousins and close friends who he loved infinitely.
