Ruth C. Kokes

Ruth C. Kokes (pronounced Coke-ish), aged 69, died October 28, 2013 at Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions. After struggling with ill health for several months, she had been hospitalized since August. Ruth came to Casper from the San Joaquin region of California where she had lived with her brother, Dr. Ron Kokes, most of the second half of her life. She attended elementary and secondary school in western Nebraska where her family farmed. Later she worked as a beautician and secretary in Omaha.
She is survived by her brother, Reggie Kokes; cousins, the Silvers of Minnesota and Missouri; as well as nieces and nephews in Kentucky and California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf and Clara (Silver) Kokes; brothers, Harold and Ron; and sister, Connie (Zulkoski) Kokes.
A memorial mass will be held in Ruth's honor at 8:30 AM on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
