Rudolph 'Rudy' William Maguire

CASPER -- Funeral Liturgy for Rudolph "Rudy" William Maguire, 70, will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, with Fr. August Koeune as celebrant.
There will be a Vigil today at 6:30 p.m. at the church.
He died Nov. 13, 2006, at Wyoming Medical Center
He was born June 29, 1936, in Hearne, Texas, the son of Rudolph William Maguire and Amelia Rita Matocha.
He was raised in the Beaumont, Texas, area and moved to Casper in 1948 when he was 12 years old.
He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1954 and joined the Navy in 1955.
While serving in the military, he attended Wentworth Institute in Boston, Mass.
He served on numerous ships, including the Alamo, Cook, Ajax, and Butte, USS LaSalle and Frances Marion, retiring from the military in 1976.
He married Barbara Kotrola on July 24, 1960 after falling in love with her at first sight. He always said he knew from the first moment he saw her that he was going to marry her. He will always be her knight in shining armor.
He worked for Pittsburg Des Moines Steel, IS&M, NL Acme and State Wide Electric until he retired in March of 2003.
His hobbies included camping, hiking, rock hunting, fishing, and everything outdoors. He truly loved and appreciated the natural beauty of Wyoming.
He loved tinkering with vehicles and anything mechanical and he was very good at it.
His three dogs were a joy every day of his life, but he lived for his family and was a caring loving husband, great father, and grandfather.
He will be greatly missed and eternally loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of Casper, four daughters, Ann Maguire, Casper, Teresa Maguire, Denver, Amy McFeeters, Manhattan, Kan., and Christy Maguire of Denver; a sister, Molly Kimball, Phoenix, Ariz., and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kate Maguire.
