Ruby K. MacRae, of Glenrock, passed away March 30. 2015 in Longmont, CO following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Ruby Knight MacRae was born February 10, 1935 in Charleston, SC. The daughter of Harvey W. Knight and Eulalie Timms Knight. She attended schools in Charleston County, graduating from St. Paul's High School on Yonges Island, S.C. in 1952. She graduated from South Carolina Baptist Hospital College for Nurses in 1955. After graduation she worked at Midstate Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee in December 1956 she went to work at Talmadge Medical University in Augusta, Georgia until February 1959. While there she took a leave of absence to do a psychiatric affiliation at the University of Colorado in Pueblo, Colorado. In March 1959 she accepted a nursing position at Natrona County Memorial Hospital until April 1964. In the 70's she worked for a short time at Michael Manor in Douglas, Wyoming and in the 70's and 80's she substituted for the Glenrock School Nurse. Each summer for 20 years she served as a Camp Nurse for the Wyoming Bible Camp. She was very active in the Glenrock PTA and served as Room Mother Chairman for many years. She was a 15 year 4-H Leader working with members in Converse and Natrona County.
She was married to Jack MacRae on May 7, 1962 while living in Casper, Wyoming. They moved to Glenrock in 1964. She was a member of the 2nd Street Church of Christ in Casper.
She loved to travel and had fond memories of her many trips.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Jack of Glenrock, daughter, LeeAnne Patton (Richard) of Milliken, CO; son, David MacRae (Wendy) and granddaughter, Rachael all of Las Vegas, NV.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 2nd at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel. Services for Ruby will be held at 10:00am on Friday, April 3rd at the 2nd Street Church of Christ followed by interment at Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
