GLENROCK -- Services for Ruby Mae Eckhardt, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, at Community Baptist Church in Glenrock with Harold Bradshaw from Highland Park Church and Pastor Rick Bishop from Community Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Glenrock Cemetery.
Viewing is 5 to 7 p.m. today at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
She died May 27, 2007, at Wyoming Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Lomax, Ill., the only daughter of five children of Peter L. Good and Mabel M. Magee.
She married Willard C. Eckhardt on March 14, 1936.
They lived on a farm in Lomax, Ill., where she worked at a tomato factory.
They moved out west in 1949 because of her husband's health.
They followed construction first to Thermopolis and then moved to Salt Lake in 1952
They moved back to Glenrock in October 1956, where he worked on the power plant.
They bought the Glenrock Bowl in 1964 and a trailer park.
They owned the bowling alley for 13 years, then sold it and bought it back in 1985.
They celebrated 65 years of marriage with a large family reunion and had a wonderful time. They shared 70 years of marriage in all..
She loved all of her family very much.
Survivors include her four children, Linda Jensen and her husband; Gary Eckhardt and his wife, Randy Eckhardt and his wife and Mickey Eckhardt and his wife, all of Glenrock; a brother, Lloyd Good and his wife, Burlington, Iowa; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 70 years, three brothers and one grandson.
Memorials may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, 82601.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
