CASPER -- Services for Rev. Roy Baker, 74, will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Bishop Vernon Strickland, assisting Bishop of Wyoming Diocese and Father Royce Brown from Central Wyoming Hospice.
He died June 10, 2007, at Central Wyoming Hospice Home of cancer.
He was born Aug. 2, 1932, in London, England, the son of Alexander Baker and Ivy Jane Austin.
After completing his education, he entered the British Army and rose to the rank of Captain. Later he worked for the BBC, directing and producing drama plays.
In 1975, he immigrated to the States as editor of British Heritage Magazine. Later, he founded his own video production company.
At the age of 64, he entered the Virginia Theological Seminary and became an Episcopal priest. He was called to St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Casper in 1998 and made Casper his permanent home as a pillar of the community.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Elizabeth and Melissa Baker and many good friends who were family to him.
