Ross F. Johnson, born April 15, 1945, passed away at his home June 14, 2017.
Ross was born in Douglas, WY and resided in Casper since 1972. After high school, Ross joined the US Army, serving in Vietnam. Upon returning to Wyoming, he took up carpentry as his vocation. Ross worked on many projects within Wyoming including the 1970's expansion of the Dave Johnston Power Plant in Glenrock. He was active in the Carpenter's Union Local 1564. He managed the union apprenticeship program in Casper for a time while teaching carpentry skills to at risk youth. He enjoyed working for his brother-in-law Larry Chapman, previously deceased, as a carpenter, as a truck driver, and as caretaker of Carol and Larry's properties. Ross married in 1975 and is survived by wife, Anna Mary.
Being pre-deceased by his parents, Marion 'Butch' Johnson and Elizabeth 'Betty' Johnson and stepson, George Studer. Ross is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Mary; sisters, Carol Chapman of Casper and Dee (Darrell) Little of Cody. Also surviving Ross are stepchildren, Bernard Studer, Peggy Below, and Valerie Rudy of Casper; Rhonda Studer of Thornton, CO; Lorie Kiser of Polson MT. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom Ross adored, also survive him. Ross enjoyed the company of his many friends and will surely be missed.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel. Reception to follow at Peaches, come enjoy Ross' favorite French fries.
