Casper - A graveside service for Rose Brummel, 97, of Casper will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Highland Cemetery, with the Reverend Jack Damien of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. Rose passed away peacefully on November 25, under the loving care of the Shepherd of the Valley Healthcare Community staff.
Rose was born on July 25, 1919, in Loveland Colorado, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Washenfelder. She moved with her family to Casper at a young age where she attended school and later married her husband of 48 years, Earl J. Brummel. Rose worked for the F.W. Woolworth company as a floorwalker during WWII while her husband served overseas in the US Navy. Later, she worked in lady's retail clothing to include J. C. Penney, Kassis, and Porters. Rose didn't know a stranger and always enjoyed life to the fullest. In her younger years, she enjoyed dining & dancing, fishing, and travel. In later years, she enjoyed playing Bingo, participating in church activities, and watching TV.
Survivors include her daughter Rosemarie Basart; grandson Jeffrey Morris and wife Mindy; and sister Elizabeth Knapp. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, and three sisters.
