Ronny passed away in Casper, Wyoming on October 12, 2022 with family at his side. He was 82 years old. Ronny was born in Vermillion, South Dakota in 1939 and grew up in Newcastle, Wyoming. After high school, Ronny joined the Navy and spent time exploring the world on a destroyer. After his Naval service, Ronny moved back to Wyoming.
He worked various jobs in the uranium and coal mines as a heavy equipment operator and foreman, but Ronny had a greater passion as a truck driver. He enjoyed being on the road and discovering different parts of the country.
In 1981 Ronny moved to Riverton, Wyoming to be with his soulmate, Joy. They raised their children, Jim, Stacey, and Cliff. Once the children graduated high school, Ronny and Joy worked as a truck driving team for a few years before settling down in Casper, Wyoming. Ronny continued to drive truck but worked more local.
Ronny enjoyed riding motorcycles and working with his hands. He was an avid mechanic and especially enjoyed working on his 1975 Jeep CJ5 that he painted bright orange. Later in life he purchased a Harley Davidson Trike and rode it over 100,000 miles. He had an affinity for chrome and made sure every vehicle he owned was adorned with it. You probably saw him driving through town in his Jeep or on his trike with his dog, Bear. He had a special place in his heart for dogs and children.
Ronny is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Hazel Rainbolt; and sister, Donna Kudlock.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Rainbolt; sons, Jim Jones and Cliff Rainbolt; daughter, Stacey O'dell; grandsons, Tanner Jackson; Ty Hamsher; granddaughters, Tayln Jones; Darby Hamsher; Stormy O'dell and Emme Espinosa; and great-granddaughter, Eizely.
