CASPER -- Funeral Mass for Ronald "Ron" Wayne DePaolo, 56, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Fr. August Koeune as celebrant.
Viewing is today from 6 to 8 p.m., at Newcomer Family Funeral Home with the Vigil at 8 p.m.
He died Feb. 19, 2008, at his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1952, in Casper, the son of Camillo "Polly" DePaolo and Joyce Adeline Foster DePaolo.
He was raised in Casper, attended St. Anthony's Catholic School and graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1970. He was a state champion high school wrestler and still holds KW school records.
He attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., on wrestling and football scholarships.
He returned home in 1974 to run the family business, Apollo Electric, with his father. He graduated from the Electrical Apprenticeship in 1977 and took over the family business in 1985.
He went to work at Automation and Electronics in 1997 where he worked as an electrical estimator until recently.
He belonged to Lions Club, NECA and Civitan Club.
He coached T-Ball, Little League baseball, Midget football and elementary basketball, He was an avid volleyball and hockey dad.
He enjoyed softball as a young man and loved to golf in his later years. He was a Paradise Valley and Municipal golf club member.
He taught Electrical Apprenticeship Classes at Casper College.
He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, skiing, snow machining, barbecues and cooking.
Family and friends were the most important thing to him.
He married Josephine Marie Povsche on Dec.8, 1979
Survivors include his wife, four children, Chelse, Camdon, Cale and Brian DePaolo, his mother and brother, Hugh DePaolo, all of Casper; a sister, Vicki Smith of Rapid City, S.D.; four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and his sister-in-law.
Memorials may be sent to the Ron DePaolo Memorial Fund, First Interstate Bank, 104 S. Wolcott, Casper, 82601.
